We had great weather for our first ride as a team out to Gilroy Hot Springs area for the classic 'Roop Loop'. A sea of blue was swarming through the quieter roads of Morgan Hill and Gilroy and all the drivers looked on in awe. So awesome! This is going to be an EPIC year for SJBC racing!
We met after the ride for pizza at Emperor Norton's and our Race Director extraordinaire Erik Camacho went over priorities and BAT (Best All-round Team) rules. Thanks Erik!
Huge thanks to Paul and Maria for driving SAG. You guys rule!
And thanks to our co-title sponsor Zaavy for the great banner.
We had great weather for the last and hardest event of the Winter Series. The roads were mostly dry and the rain was nice enough to hold off until after we finished (despite several CX racers showing up and bringing their 'bad weather' mojo!).
Congrats to Greg McCullough on the hard fought win and for winning the Road Race championship.
Here is a list of our champions:
Overall Champion: Kaito Clarke (first ever Junior to win it?)
Junior Champion: Kaito Clarke
Women's Champion: Illi Gardner (she rocks!)
"Rick Madden" Time Trial Champion: Johannes Stephens
Greg McCullough: Road Race Champion
Scratch Champion: Todd Munk
Thanks to all for coming out to the 2015/16 Winter Series. We have some potential changes in store for next year we think you'll like. See you then!
We had tough conditions at ITT #2 with a headwind on Santa Teresa and generally heavy air. But it was dry and a bit warmer so we can't complain eh?
Up next is the last and hardest event of the Winter Series, the 3-lap road race. You'll get to see how much fitness you've retained this winter at this event for sure!
The volunteer spots are full for this event. Thank you once again SJBC for your volunteerism this year!
See you there!!
